Progress Chemical, Inc. announces their 1831 and 1852 Cleaning Concentrates. These compounds are mild organic acid products formulated to safely and efficiently strip rust, heat treat scale and various other metal oxides and metallic coatings using ultrasonics. These compounds are also very effective at passivating stainless steel (per ASTM 967-99) and will brighten copper and brass leaving a deep reflective finish. These compunds can be used on both ferrous and nonferrous metals, are non-combustible, non-corrosive, biodegradeable and contain no hazardous ingredients. Specifically designed for ultrasonic cleaning systems, 1831 and 1852 Cleaning Concentrates can also be used in heated soak tank applications. In most situations, rust can be removed using ultrasonics in 30-120 seconds. Severe rust (see picture) can be removed in as little as 10 minutes.
